Standing approximately 24 inches tall on its natural wood base, this one-of-a-kind cedar bear proudly holds a removable “CRAZY HOUSE” sign, bringing a little humor and personality to the traditional welcome bear. Hand-carved from solid cedar by artist Jess Alice, the bear features a full-dimensional form, expressive face, and deeply textured fur. Burned detailing creates depth throughout the carving while warm natural cedar highlights provide contrast and showcase the character of the wood. Compact enough to fit easily beside an entryway, fireplace, covered porch, cabin, office, or business, the raised natural wood base gives the sculpture a finished presence while keeping its footprint relatively small.
INTERCHANGEABLE SIGN The pictured CRAZY HOUSE sign is removable and interchangeable, allowing the bear's message to change with the season, occasion, or personality of its home. ONE OF A KIND No molds. No mass production. Each Jess Alice sculpture begins with an individual piece of timber and is carved by hand. Variations in grain, knots, shape, carving, and natural markings become part of the finished artwork, ensuring that no two bears will ever be exactly alike.
NATURAL CEDAR & NATURAL CRACKING Solid wood continues to respond to its environment after carving. As cedar naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, checking, cracks, and small separations may develop or change over time. These are normal characteristics of solid-wood sculpture and are not considered defects. They contribute to the natural character and individuality of the artwork.
CARE & DISPLAY For the longest life, protected or covered placement is recommended whenever possible. When displayed outdoors, periodically apply an appropriate exterior wood sealer according to the manufacturer's directions to help protect the wood and finish from moisture and UV exposure. Avoid prolonged contact with standing water or persistently wet ground. Natural checking generally does not require repair. Larger checks may be stabilized or professionally filled if desired.
