24" CHAINSAW-CARVED BLACK BEAR WITH INTERCHANGEABLE FAFO SIGN
One-of-a-Kind Cedar Wood Sculpture by Artist Jess Alice A little attitude, carved in cedar. Standing approximately 24 inches tall × 7 inches wide, this one-of-a-kind black bear combines traditional chainsaw-carved wildlife art with a decidedly less traditional message. The bear proudly holds a removable “FAFO” sign, creating a bold, humorous statement piece with plenty of personality. Hand-carved from solid cedar by artist Jess Alice, the bear features a full-dimensional form, expressive face, layered fur texture, and contrasting natural wood accents. The rich black finish emphasizes the carving while allowing the lighter cedar of the muzzle, ears, base, and sign to stand out. The narrow vertical design gives this piece substantial presence without requiring much floor space, making it an easy addition beside an entryway, fireplace, front door, covered porch, cabin, shop, office, or business.
INTERCHANGEABLE SIGN The pictured FAFO sign is removable and interchangeable, allowing the bear's message to change with the season, occasion, or your particular level of tolerance for visitors. Compatible Jess Alice signs and accessories may be purchased separately when available, transforming one sculpture into a piece that can evolve throughout the year.
ONE OF A KIND No molds. No mass production. Each Jess Alice sculpture begins with an individual piece of timber and is carved by hand. Variations in grain, knots, shape, carving, and natural markings become part of the finished artwork, ensuring that no two bears will ever be exactly alike.
NATURAL CEDAR & NATURAL CRACKING Solid wood continues to respond to its environment after carving. As cedar naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, checking, cracks, and small separations may develop or change over time. These are normal characteristics of solid-wood sculpture and are not considered defects. They contribute to the natural character and individuality of the piece.
CARE & DISPLAY For the longest life, protected or covered placement is recommended whenever possible. When displayed outdoors, periodically apply an appropriate exterior wood sealer according to the manufacturer's directions to help protect the wood and finish from moisture and UV exposure. Avoid prolonged contact with standing water or persistently wet ground. Natural checking generally does not require repair. Larger checks may be stabilized or professionally filled if desired.
