16" CHAINSAW-CARVED CEDAR JACK-O'-LANTERN
One-of-a-Kind Wood Sculpture by Artist Jess Alice A classic symbol of autumn reimagined in solid wood. This one-of-a-kind Jack-O'-Lantern is individually chainsaw-carved from cedar, creating a substantial seasonal sculpture designed to return year after year. Standing approximately 16 inches tall, the pumpkin features a dimensional carved face, sculpted contours, and a darkened stem. Burned detailing creates depth within the eyes, nose, and smile, while the warm natural character and grain of the cedar remain visible throughout.
Individually carved and finished by artist Jess Alice, this piece brings the character of original wood sculpture to fall and Halloween displays without feeling like mass-produced seasonal décor. Display it on a hearth, entryway, covered porch, garden, storefront, or alongside other seasonal pieces to create a larger autumn collection.
ONE OF A KIND No molds. No mass production. Each Jess Alice sculpture begins with an individual piece of timber and is carved by hand. Natural variations in grain, knots, color, shape, and carving become part of the finished artwork, ensuring that every Jack-O'-Lantern has a character entirely its own.
NATURAL CEDAR & NATURAL CRACKING Solid wood continues to respond to its environment after it has been carved. As cedar naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, checking, cracks, and small separations may develop or change over time. These are normal characteristics of solid-log sculpture and are not considered defects. They become part of the evolving character of the wood and contribute to what makes each piece truly one of a kind.
CARE & DISPLAY For the longest life, protected or covered placement is recommended whenever possible. When displayed outdoors, periodically apply an appropriate exterior wood sealer according to the manufacturer's directions to help protect the wood and finish from moisture and UV exposure. Avoid prolonged contact with standing water or persistently wet ground. Natural checking generally does not require repair. Larger checks may be stabilized or professionally filled if desired.
