14" CHAINSAW-CARVED CEDAR RAVEN
One-of-a-Kind Wood Sculpture by Artist Jess Alice Dark, sculptural and full of character, this 14-inch raven is an original piece of chainsaw-carved wildlife art inspired by one of nature’s most intelligent and enigmatic birds. Perched upon its natural wood base, the raven features a strong silhouette and layers of individually carved feathering that create depth and movement throughout the body and wings. NATURAL CEDAR & NATURAL CRACKING Solid wood continues to respond to its environment after carving. As cedar naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, checking, cracks, and small separations may develop or change over time. These are normal characteristics of solid-wood sculpture and are not considered defects. They become part of the evolving character of the timber and contribute to the individuality of each piece.
CARE & DISPLAY For the longest life, protected or covered placement is recommended whenever possible. When displayed outdoors, periodically apply an appropriate exterior wood sealer according to the manufacturer's directions to help protect the wood and finish from moisture and UV exposure. Avoid prolonged contact with standing water or persistently wet surfaces. Natural checking generally does not require repair. Larger checks may be stabilized or professionally filled if desired.
